Access Statement
Location
Maidenhead town centre and Maidenhead railway station are both located approximately 1 mile away from Sunny Cottage Guest House. Unfortunately there is no bus service to the railway station or town centre. However, we are happy to arrange taxis on request or when possible provide collection or drop off to the station.
Sunny Cottage is located just off the A404, Junction 8/9, less than 1 mile from the M4.
Parking
There is car parking space for 6 cars at the front of the property just steps away from the front door. The drive is gravelled and slightly uneven in the area for parking.
The garage is not available for use by guests for storage of motor vehicles, but bicycles may be stored there.
The entrance to the property is well lit at night and sensor lights illuminate the parking area.
Assistance with luggage can be offered if necessary.
The House
The front door to the house opens onto a small square porch. An internal door leads from here into the property. There is a small step between the entrance porch and main hall. The property is not suitable for wheelchair access.
The house is on 2 levels, ground floor and first floor. All bedrooms are located on the first floor.
The ground floor is level, laminate flooring throughout with 2 large rugs in the area used by guests.
Access to the first floor is via a staircase of 12 steps. The staircase is shallow carpeted and approximately 75cm in width.
All bedrooms have fully fitted carpets, are spacious and well lit and have en-suite facilities. The bathrooms are not suitable for disabled use. A slip mat is available on request for use in the bath or shower.
Each bedroom has it's own door key and also keys to the main entrance doors.
We have a list of out of hours telephone numbers for emergencies and would offer assistance during the night should an emergency occur.
All guest areas are well lit and emergency torches are located in each guest bedroom for use in the unlikely event of evacuation during a power cut.
Smoke alarms are fitted and a fire extinguisher is located on the ground floor.
There is a no smoking policy within the property but guests are welcome to smoke in the beautiful landscaped gardens at the rear of the property.
We have a no pets rule.
Mobile phone reception within the guest house is good for all networks.
There is wireless internet access available throughout the premises
